We are looking for a senior project manager to join a multidisciplinary delivery team based in the East Midlands. You will join an existing team of professionals to deliver a new

multi-million pound extension to a £300m government facility currently under construction in Leicester.

Prioritising off site construction and modern methods of construction, the project will be BIM Level 2 compliant and target high levels of sustainability in construction and operation. Part of a programme of projects to deliver a transformed national estate, the project is a catalyst

for industry-wide innovation and would suit candidates interested in supporting and championing these causes.

This is an opportunity to lead a project from inception through to handover and operation. The role would suit an individual looking to further their career by tackling a larger, more complex scheme in a supportive environment.

This is a client-facing role, responsible for working together with team members to deliver the project’s objectives in a collaborative, fast-paced and challenging environment.

The role is advertised on a full time basis however we welcome applications from candidates seeking a part time position.

Responsibilities

Leading project management of all aspects of the project, from inception to handover,including:

  • Managing production and technical assurance of the design of the new building based on an existing innovative design.

  • Leading a small team of technical reviewers to evaluate design approvals, and managing technical issues as they arise.

  • Working with a commercial consultant to agree cost and risk allocation for contract award

  • Managing the delivery phase through to successful handover and occupation.

  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the client, main contractor and stakeholders.

  • Maintain regular, accurate reporting across a range of platforms.

  • Coordinate, plan and manage internal and external meetings about the project.

  • Manage change in an efficient manner and in accordance with the NEC contract and client governance process

  • Track planning and other consents necessary for successful completion, identifying and implementing corrective actions where required.

  • Monitor site progress, leading regular strategic programme reviews and providingfeedback to the contractor and client

  • Contribute to risk management and work with project team to identify, schedule, andestablish mitigation strategies for project risks.

Requirements

Proactive, able to work independently identifying and resolving day to day project withoutdirection from others you will:

  • Have a good understanding of pre-construction processes (briefing, design,procurement) as well as an awareness of construction delivery.

  • Be a confident communicator, able to interpret technical and contractual informationand relay it in an understandable way to our client.

  • Be able to demonstrate commercial awareness and an understanding of how contractsare compiled and administered. NEC3 ECC experience would be beneficial but notessential as training will be provided.

  • Be a problem solver, able to identify issues that affect our client, suggest practicalsolutions and implement them.
