We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a specialist Project Management Consultancy business. This role will manage the definition and delivery of projects and to work directly alongside client customers and project teams to assist and advise them on their projects or groups of projects, including the management of other internal resources, with due skill and care.
To be fully knowledgeable of the project appointment and of the project itself overall for the current and imminent stages, to maintain a relevant and valid appointment, and to perform the required duties.
To be fully knowledgeable of the required time inputs and their durations planned and actual; and to seek full occupation and continuity of self and co-workers.
To be fully familiar with the status of their project(s) including time and cost against targets, business situation on invoicing, debtors and profitability, and of the client satisfaction of the project overall and of the business contribution.
To identify opportunities to extend the current commission in terms of scope or duration and for further commissions from this source and to co-ordinate action accordingly with mentors and project coordinators.
To accumulate sector information and advise others on relevant issues, knowledge and specialisms within their experience, to undertake data collection and research where appropriate.
To perform administrative functions in accordance with and assist with the development of the staff handbook and General Office Procedures, to maintain project records, to provide internal Project Reports and briefings.
To prepare and monitor internal fee costings and invoices where specifically tasked to do so.
Training and Standards
To partake fully in all training activities and undertake continuing studies and CPD to achieve and maintain suitable qualifications and knowledge and also to work generally in accordance with, undertake project feedback to and make contributions to Good Practice notes (unless agreed otherwise).
Key skills required:
Experience within Science or Higher Education projects is essential
Preferably from an engineering background
Ability to manage complexity exceptionally well
Previous experience with managing large budget projects
Solid client facing experience.
