Our commercial and residential property environment client is looking to recruit a Development Accounts Assistant to undertake tasks relating to the maintenance of electrical/electronic, mechanical and HVAC systems. The training will take place at both their company and a suitable college and will be managed by the Recruitment and Personnel Advisor, in partnership with the selected college. The apprentice will work towards a National Vocational Qualification and a City & Guilds qualification.

To be eligible for the course, applicants will need to have GCSE in English, Maths, Science and ideally one other subject. The continuation of training is dependent upon the results achieved at college and through oon-site assessment. Day release will be given for college attendance.

Responsibilities

  • To carry out general maintenance tasks as instructed.

  • To carry out, under supervision, reactive/planned preventative maintenance tasks in an efficient and timely manner.

  • To assist with the cleanliness of all plant rooms and mechanical areas.

  • To be thoroughly familiar and comply with the Company's "Health & Safety" policy and procedures and to immediately report any hazards or infringements to either the Building Services Manager or Engineering Supervisor.

  • To action and complete time/task sheets as required in accordance with agreed procedures.

  • To undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Building Services Manager or Engineering Supervisor.

Requirements

  • To have achieved (or are in the process of achieving) GCSEs in Maths, English and Science.

  • The applicant must show a degree of manual dexterity and be able to follow basic technical instructions. Good communication skills are required in order to liaise effectively with tenants and other members of the Maintenance Team.

  • The applicant must be self-motivated, approachable and demonstrate willingness to assist others.

  • The applicant must be of smart appearance and bearing and punctual with a flexible attitude towards work.

  • The incumbent must have an appreciation of the importance of customer service and how this is applied in the context of their company

  • The applicant must be willing to practice the skills learned at college to enable him/her to become an integrated member of the Maintenance Team.
