Countryside is the UK’s leading mixed-tenure developer, bringing together modern and efficient delivery methods to create sustainable communities built to last, where people love to live.

It works mainly on public sector owned and brownfield land, in partnership with local authorities and housing associations to develop private, affordable and PRS homes. As a business, Countryside is one of the earliest adopters of modern methods of construction, helping to reduce the amount of construction waste, improve quality and reduce build times on site. Opening its first modular panel factory in Warrington in March 2019, Countryside is due to open their third factory in autumn 2021. Its developments include large scale regeneration projects at Beam Park, Rainham; Acton Gardens, Ealing; and Rochester Riverside, Medway.

Its business model is designed to be flexible and responsive to the changing need of stakeholders and the markets in which it operates, while ensuring long-term financial sustainability and growth.

Countryside is regularly recognised through industry awards for design, community development, customer service and sustainability:

  • Countryside holds more Housing Design Awards than any other housebuilder

  • It is the only housebuilder to have ever received the RIBA Stirling Prize for a housing development

  • Retained their HBF 5 Star customer satisfaction again in 2021

  • Gold Award and the Outstanding Achievement Award from In-House, an independent researcher for customer satisfaction

  • Winner of Winners by the Housing Design Awards 2020 for Rochester Riverside, their flagship regeneration scheme in Medway, Kent

Countryside has also unveiled its ambitious approach to sustainability, setting 25 key targets, focusing on three key areas: its operations and the homes it builds, the communities it creates, and its people. It has committed towards:

  • Delivery of efficiently and responsibly building 45,000 new homes by 2025

  • Working with its partners to deliver sustainable communities and enhance the quality of life for over a million people by 2030

  • Creating an inclusive and rewarding workplace where the employees thrive by 2025
